Question: Why is the server 21+ if it's mostly SFW?
Answer: While the server is largely SFW (with ID-gated exceptions),
the 21+ limit ensures a mature, no brain rot environment.
Question: Why do I have to submit an application to unlock the server?
Answer: Applications help ensure new members align with the community’s focus
and keep out trolls and low-effort lurkers. Quality over quantity.
Question: Why are there so many questions on the application?!
Answer: It’s only ten questions about a topic you claim to be passionate about.
If that feels like too much, this community likely isn’t the right fit.
Question: I submitted an application and was denied. Why?
Answer: Applications are only denied for clear misinformation or low-effort responses,
including AI-generated or overly vague answers. Most applicants are approved
when they provide thoughtful, genuine responses.
Question: Do I have to subscribe to use certain channels?
Answer: Most channels are free. A small number are supporter-only as a thank-you.
Question: Why are selfies and self-promotion channels level-locked?
Answer: To prevent spam and ensure members engage meaningfully
before promoting themselves.
Question: Why was I or my friend banned?
Answer: Bans are issued only for rule violations or toxic behavior and are not taken lightly.
If you follow the rules and are a decent human being, then you won’t have an issue.
Question: Can I appeal a ban?
Answer: Bans are final, except in rare cases of staff error.
This helps keep the community safe and consistent.
Question: I've heard [insert unfounded rumors here]. Is it true?
Answer: We don’t engage in gossip or drama like some other servers. We focus on our community and improving it. The best way to judge is to experience it yourself.
Question: Will I be kicked for being inactive?
Answer: No. Members are asked to engage at least once every 30 days to keep the Crypt Crew role. Inactive members are moved to Purgatory until they return. However, repeated reactivation without participation may result in removal.

Our application process is not intended to promote elitism or offend,
only to keep out shitposters, trolls, and toxicity.
Joining our community is a choice, and we encourage only those who value
a thoughtful, intentional space that fosters meaningful interactions to apply.
What we look for in applications:
• Thoughtful, genuine answers written in your own words
• No obvious AI generated or copy and pasted responses
• Enough detail to show real interest and understanding of your chosen topic
• Quality over length, we are not asking for essays
• Clear passion for horror, goth, true crime, the paranormal, or the occult
• Effort that shows you actually want to be part of the community
What gets you denied:
• Complaining about the application process
• Responses that are clearly AI generated
• Little to no understanding of the topic you selected
• Vague, low effort answers
• An abrasive and rude attitude
Whether you're approved or denied, we thank you for your interest in
The Crypt and taking the time to read this.
